How do I connect to my computers from the web console?

Follow

Note that Splashtop Business client apps must be installed for this to work (version 2.5.5.10 and above for Windows and version 2.5.5.5 and above for Mac).

Download the latest Splashtop Business client app for your platform from www.splashtop.com/downloads#b.

If the client app is not installed or if it's an older version, connecting from the web console will result in a browser error page or have no response.

How does it work?

On the web console, there is a "Connect" button next to each computer. Click the button to connect directly to a computer.

Clicking the "Connect" button will automatically launch the Splashtop Business client app, log in with your Splashtop ID, and initiate connection to the appropriate computer.

The Splashtop Business client app may prompt you to enter your password, if the app has not been launched before or a password has not been saved.

You can download the latest Splashtop Business client apps from www.splashtop.com/downloads#b.

What are those browser warnings?

In order for the browser to launch the Splashtop Business client app, it may need to get permission from you. Just allow it to proceed.

You can also check the box to prevent these warnings from being shown in the future.

Other notes

If a session is initiated via the web console, when the session terminates, the Splashtop Business client app will close itself and return you to the web console

On Windows, you can launch multiple simultaneous sessions, just by clicking "Connect" for multiple computers in the web console. Each session will open in its own instance of the Splashtop Business client app.

Unfortunately, above does not work on Mac due to some OS restrictions. Launching a session from the web console on a Mac will only switch to the already-running instance of the Splashtop Business client app.

However, it is possible to open multiple instances of the Mac client manually via the following command in Terminal (not using the web console):

open -n -a "Splashtop Business"

Do users fall out of my "Computers" web console after a certain period of inactivity?

I'm missing one of my devices that have been offline for a while, but I know for certain that I didn't remove it on purpose.

    Thanks,

    @Spencer,

Yes, the computer profile will be erased if keeping offline for 30 days or so.

The computer profile will be erased if keeping offline for 30 days...,  Not if I do not connect in 30 days?

If the computer is turned on and online it not will be erased. Correct?

    Thanks!

I have followed all your directions, but cannot connect to a computer.  I have the most recent version of Splashtop on Windows 7, I have allowed pop-ups for your site; but when I hit Connect next to the computer, I get a message that says, "Client app is missing or did not launch correctly."  I check, and the app is in my programs.  What am I doing wrong?

    @ Ealbino,

Yes, the profile will not be erased if it is online whether there is remote session to it or not, it will only be erased in offline case.

    @ Bryancleaning,

What browser did you try to hit connect button? Have you tired other browser? Also, could you please take a screenshot of Splashtop Business in your programs? I checked our backend with your Splashtop Account (

bryancleaning@att.net) and could only find Splashtop Personal on Windows/iPhone and Splashtop Business on iPad, no Splashtop Business on Windows.

I have the same issues as byancleaning@ but I have a mac. I followed all the connection advise. I do get a weird screen sometimes in the background, but I can not type in the security password because it disappears. What am I doing wrong because I too get a message that says, "Client app is missing or did not launch correctly."?

    @ Janiceschma,

We do not see similar background before and have no clue what the cause is for now, could you please uncheck option "Require Security code" in Streamer-> Security tab to see if there is any help?

As to hitting connect button on my.splashtop.com, please let us know the browser and its version on your Mac; and have you tried to use other browser on your Mac to see if it could work?

Does Splashtop Business allow you to access a work desktop from a home office desktop?

The trial version allowed me to connect. I went ahead and purchased the Business version--can't connect to sh*t.     C'mon, you folks  can do better than this !

    I have re-loaded multiple times/ used different PC's--same story. Logged on/off. etc

I too get a message that says, "Client app is missing or did not launch correctly."?

    Connect to a computer

It seems Splashtop Business client app is missing or did not launch correctly.

To connect to a computer from this device, the Splashtop Business client app must be installed on this device. Please download and install it.

Please allow pop-ups for this site so the Splashtop app can be launched.

    @ Poberg,

Do you have Splashtop Business client installed on your home computer which will host a remote connection? If you can not download it from our official website (http://www.splashtop.com/downloads), here is a dropbox link for your references: https://db.tt/B06Lg8gN

Hi, i would also need some help, it though that i can connect to my computer running the streamer without had to install another app.

The second (and i think the problem) is that there seems to be no business client for Ubuntu 14.04, am i right?

I cannot connect through the web console to my computer. I have installed the business streamer. I have tried chrome, IE10, and IE11 from two other locations. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the business streamer.I get the same message as @Poberg. LMI pro works fine at this location as well as remote utilities. I paid for your service because of your ease of install claims and your support promises, but have gotten neither. I submitted a ticket two days ago and I have not gotten a reply.

Did you have any plan to add additional features? I'm missing Wake On Lan (WOL) Option or Turn On Option while a PC is off and supports WOL on Splahtop as I really make use of this while giving night support on some of my customers.  I really needs it!! I'm still on trial but missing this for me is a really big pain on my brain.

Still having issues....if I reboot my target computer then splashtop does not reconnect until someone logs in......this defeats the purpose of remote support. I have tried to deselect "require windows login" but that makes no difference. Splashtop claims to be an alternative to logmein, but logmein does not have this issue.

Having exact similar issue as Moberg and Gackdeux - it's saying that an app is missing even though I have already installed Splashtop Business on both of my computers. Funny thing is - it lets me connect to my laptop FROM my desktop but not vice versa - which is, of course, what I really need.

Could it have anything to do with the older version of Splashtop Business I downloaded on my desktop?

    @Mjess,

Do you also have Streamer installed on both machine? Streamer works as a sender that will send video/audio to Splashtop Business side.

  • Avatar
    Gackdeux

ok...after a lot of work with upper tiers of support......here is how to make it work.......first thing is** streamer** is for the computer you want to remote into (Target computer).....the splashtop client goes on the local computer you are using- you need both installed somewhere.  If you use the web portal all it does is launch the local client software so it has to be installed and you have to have pop-ups enabled or not blocked....and yes you can have the client and streamer installed together so you can use that machine to access others as well as access that machine remotely from somewhere else. Make sure if you are using splashtop business that you DO NOT use "Require Windows Password" otherwise it will only work if someone is logged on and it won't come back up if you reboot until someone logs in.

MULTIPLE SESSIONS ON A MAC.  They suggest using a Terminal command to launch multiple remote sessions at once on a Mac.  This seems to work OK.  What I've done is opened a few Splashtop Business windows and locked them in to my Dock.  Now I see 3 Splashtop Business icons in my dock.  I can just click on those to easily open multiple remote connections at once.  No need to go through Terminal (unless I need to launch more connections.

I have a client that needs to access their computer remotely but we cannot install any programs on the units they are going to be using to access with.  How can they access their unit without installing the app?

I have installed the Splashtop Business App  and un-checked "block pop-ups" and it is still giving this message when I try to log on.

    Locating the Splashtop Business app...

The Splashtop Business app must be installed on this computer for this to work.

Please allow pop-ups for this site so the Splashtop app can be launched.

    Any suggestions?

Ive installed the software on two computers at work that I want to access from home, and Ive installed the other software on my laptop, this seems to work fine. I also want to have the software on my other computers at home so depending if Im working in my home office and can use the big screen which would be nice because the resolution and screen size is terrible (maybe there is a setting for that) and also on my mac... but I cant see where to add other computers, it keeps promtping me to buy more users but I dont need users its just me.

Please let me know how I can add in my other two computers.thanks Al
