How can I see and control multiple monitors?

Follow

Steps

When you connect to a computer with Splashtop, you will connect and see the main monitor screen.  To change to view/control a different monitor, you click on the downward arrow icon at the top center of the window () to open the menu and click on the switch monitor icon.

Update, version 3.1.6.0 and newer for streamer and Business app (www.splashtop.com/downloads):

Then choose the monitor to control or the bottom option to show all monitors (Show All Monitors only available on Business Access, Remote Support Plus, and On-Demand Support services - not available on Remote Support Basic):

** "Show All Monitors" option does not work with Splashtop NVidia optimizations.  Please use deployment streamer or disable NVidia optimization (#3 item).

Version 3.1.4.1 and older:

Each time you click on the icon, it will rotate to view another monitor in a "round robin" fashion.  Enhancements are in progress to allow you to choose the specific monitor to view.

Future Enhancements

For dual monitor to dual monitor configurations, development is in progress for the ability to have remote 2 monitors show on your local 2 monitors at the same time.

    Please support multi-to-multi monitor soon. This is becoming a more and more commonplace setup for business.

    We are having trouble with sporadic blank screens on the 2nd and/or 3rd monitor.

    @Jlucero,

    Are you saying that when toggling to 2nd or 3rd monitor, you will get only blank screen? At the time, it is only the remote window is blank, or the computer's monitor actually is blank?

    We don't see similar issue before, so would like to collect more info, so we can try to reproduce it in house.

    Thank you.

    This really needs to be pushed through ASAP and end of Q2 is an eternity with how technology is. It is a feature that your competitors have had for at least two years, if not longer.

    i agree... i have use 3 monitors to 3 monitors on logmein pro, and i can't believe you have only switching going on with your app. this needs to be added ASAP. I'm sure you're getting a flood of users coming from Logmein since their ridiculous price increase. Please don't make me regret it.

    I'm currently using the trial version to evaluate switching. While it's not a deal breaker, it's very important since it's a feature I rely on.

    @all,

    Showing multiple monitors at the same time is one of the top priority items to add. We target May end to have it available. Thank you for your consideration.

    +1

    ASAP please! very difficult when end user opens every screen on the SECOND monitor. You spend your remote session constantly flicking from 1 to 2, so you can see whats going on.

    I sent an email with images attached. The contents of the email, without the images, is the following:
    When we log in to the remote computer, the main screen is fine with no issues. However, when toggling to the 2nd or 3rd monitor that’s when the screens go completely black. Once I toggle back, the main screen is fine.

    The monitors are not identical and the resolution is not identical. (see images below). This sporadic. The other day, neither of the smaller monitors, 2 & 3 would be black. Today, 1 & 3 are fine but not 2. When I have set monitor 2 as the main display, the display is messed up. ( see attachments). Let me know if you have any more questions.

    @Havinabubble, multi to multi monitor is in development.

    @Jlucero, you might be having compatibility issues with the NVidia driver. Please refer to this article on steps to disable it.

    I just moved away from my 250 user LMI account to Splastop. For the most part, I am delighted with Splashtop. I got a call from one of my clients asking about this issue, (dual monitors concurrent viewing) and I started researching it. This request has been out there since at least 2013. I agree with some comments above, that this is not an optional feature that we can wait for. Please elevate, escalate, expedite--what ever you need to do--to get this feature up. Is there a beta we can use in the interrim? How about the ability to run two splashtop sessions concurrently?

    @Support,

    Thanks for the feedback. Showing multiple monitors at the same time feature is under development. This is definitely one of the high priority features we are working on. If there is a beta version we could provide, I will let you know.

    You can run two Splashtop sessions from one computer concurrently, but not to one computer. By design, only one remote session can be established to one computer at the same time.

    If you have both Splashtop Business Access/Remote Support and SOS, you can have one Splashtop Business Access/Remote Support (unattended support) and one SOS (attended support) connection to one computer at the same time.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    All,

    The initial rollout will be for "multi-to-one." Meaning you'll be able to see the remote side's multiple monitors in *one* window on your local side. That will help with moving items across multiple monitors, seeing where new windows popped up, etc.

    We will then work on the ability to map "multi-to-multi," where you'll truly be able to see remote computer's 2 monitors in 2 separate windows. Then you can put those 2 windows on 2 separate local monitors, for true "multi-to-multi."

    Thanks all for sticking with us during the wait. This is the top item on our roadmap!

    I am interested in this thread.
    I generally use two monitors and have many client computers who are using two monitors as well. This would be a great (and necessary) addition!

    For "multi-to-one," we're testing the function in-house now. We expect to release it around mid July. Please write to phil@splashtop.com if you'd like to beta test and haven't written me yet.

    For "multi-to-multi," there's no ETA at the moment, but it will be one of our top things once we release multi-to-one.

    Thanks,

    Information

    And while waiting for the multi-multi (it's a must have), I use the Mac client and it really could help if we could use a hotkey shortcut when switching monitors.

    Right now we have to use the top menu as shown in the above post. It's really inefficient when we have to switch often between screens.

    I read other posts about that, but found no timeline. And it really seems simple to implement, to great benefit to your users.

    Any ideas when that function will be available ?

    +1 on the shortcut idea, there should be hot key for a few of these top manu items multi screen be the 1st one.

    Yes, what is the status on a shortcut for switching monitors. I am on a MAC viewing mostly window boxes. Several threads from have a comment from support stating Q2 of this year. Waiting....

    @Information, Y and Info,

    Thanks for the feedback.

    After multi-to-one multiple supported, next step we will re-design our toolbar (top menu); always on top, re-allocate options to make them easier to find, and several other useful improvements are already on the roadmap, by that time maybe we can also support some hotkeys.

    The major concern is that there might be hotkey conflicts with ones originally supported on local and remote devices. We are still evaluating how to achieve this best.

    Thanks,

    Hey splash Tech support. When will you roll out multi screen ?

    Guys, about shortcut for switching monitor, I think LogMeIn uses "Left CTRL key-Left Windows key-Right/Left Arrow key". Would something like that work for you (still need 2 hands to activate)? Or any other preferred combos? Your input will make it easier for us to define the right combo and avoid conflicts.

    @Donw, aiming for about 2 weeks.

    Support,
    That combination may get in the way of Windows hot key to move windows to left or right half of screen. Personally it wouldn't bother me, but would it make more sense to have an option screen where the user can set what key strokes can be set for Previous/Next monitor. Another option is to have (similar to new logmein/joinme option) each monitor open as it's own window. Several of my situations is I my host and client machine both have dual monitor and I can re-arrange the 2 separate windows to how I see fit on the client to work.

    I agree that the solution needs to be separate, scalable windows to represent each of the screens at the other end. Then they can be resized/repositioned in whatever way works best on my side.
