With the introduction of macOS 15 Sequoia, the "Screen Recording" permission has been updated to "Remote Desktop". This permission lets you control and access your Mac from another device. When granted, it allows you to view and interact with your Mac's screen remotely, making remote management easier, especially within the Splashtop connections.
To help you navigate this change, we've outlined some common scenarios you might encounter if "Remote Desktop" isn't granted in your Security and Privacy settings.
-
If you're new to Splashtop and use macOS 15 or macOS 14 but haven't yet granted "Remote Desktop" permission:
A pop-up will appear asking you to grant the "Remote Desktop" permission. Click the "Allow" button to enable it.
-
If you use MacOS 14 and have already granted "Screen Recording" permission:
A pop-up will appear reminding you to allow the new "Remote Desktop" Permission. Click the "Open System Settings" button to enable it. If you select "Deny," the pop-up won't appear again.
