MST file by Splashtop for deployment via GPO

I have windows systems and servers. I wanted to deploy Splashtop on all client machines from Server GPO. I was able to download the MSI package file from Splashtop management. However, it also needs MST file that needs to be attached to the MSI package in the Windows Server Group Policy for mass deployment. I had to read & learn a lot to understand this and then create a file by myself to make it work. Also, Splashtop has some guidance pages on MSI and MST files, but I wish Splashtop would integrate both these files to be configurable & downloadable from the portal as well, and also put together all the blogs/info in one place for customers to understand. This would have saved me at least half a week. Thanks.

  • Hello, how did you deploy Splashtop by GPO? I have MST and MSI files, made the policy but didn't get the deployment on the computers.

  • Hi,

I made a new group policy entirely for Splashtop only; that helps a lot with deployment and version upgrades. Moreover, you need to configure the deployment policy to ensure it works. Here are some of the settings I had to do (screenshots attached). Moreover, I'm no IT expert but I have seen deployment not work if the MST file wasn't attached (in the modification tab) in the first pass, and also "Ignore language during installation" option has to be checked during the creation of deployment. Let me know if you have any questions.

    Regards,
