History of computer logins?

Sorry if this has already been addressed, but, I'm wondering if there is anyway to see a list of logins from each computer, for say, maybe a 10 day period, 30 day period or similar?

I am trying to solve an issue where a computer user states "I haven't used my laptop since blah blah blah" when clearly I can see the 'last log in.'

What would be helpful is to see 'multiple' log in times and dates.

  • @Acacandy,

I haven't heard of this myself, so thanks for bringing it up.

When you say "log in", are you referring to logging into the computer's Windows/Mac user account?

Or are you referring to remote sessions into that computer?

For the latter, you can access session logs on the web console under Logs > Sessions. On the web page, you can search by computer name.

You can also export the logs as CSV and search/analyze using Excel.

  • Thanks for your reply Phil.

I guess I wasn't clear on my desires. I want to be able to see (from Splashtop) a list of times and dates that the computers were online. As you know, when the computer is offline, you can see when it was last online. I would like to extend this ability out for some period of time, rather than just the "last time" it was connected to the internet (along with the IP address of course.)

  • Thanks. I understand better now.

When we show a computer as online, basically the streamer is running and it's able to talk to our servers.

When we show a computer as offline, the streamer is either not running or not able to talk to our servers due to network unavailable. (Typical scenarios are computer is off, computer is sleeping, network is down, etc.)

Given these definitions of online and offline, do they match the info that you're trying to get at?

  • Yes, that is getting closer. Are there any logs that show the time, day, IP address for each computer while the streamer was running and connected online?

  • Not exactly what you're looking for, but might help.

It's possible to get email notifications whenever computers go online and go offline.

So, the emails become your "log." Unfortunately that's the closest thing right now.

You can turn on such email notifications at Management > Settings > Set up notification emails. You'll see the options for sending emails when computers go online/offline (default is unchecked).

Hope that helps somewhat. We'll keep your request in mind. By the way, are you aware of another remote desktop software that does what you need well? We'd be interested in checking it out as a reference.

  • No, I'm not aware of any other software that does that. I came from using logmein until they quadrupled prices (and then some) for their service. I'm a small time "help friends" with their computers and couldn't afford the price tag just to help friends and family. The price on your software is reasonable and if I can get just one friend to pitch in and pay their fair share, even better. Haven't been able to do that yet, but hoping for such luck with my renewal coming up in a few days. Thanks Phil for taking the time to answer my questions. I really appreciate it.
