Sonicwall flags Splashtop as P2P

Hey Guys - have just tried to use the streamer behind a sonicwall firewall and it will not permit it as it flags it as a P2P file Sharing service as per this link

http://software.sonicwall.com/applications/app/index.asp?ev=sig&sigid=191

Can you guys work with Sonicwall in some way so they know you're one of the good guys and not some random P2P file sharing service?

Thanks :-)

  • Wayne,

Thanks for the reminder! We will surely contact Sonicwall regarding the issue.

Before we contact Sonicwall, is the link you attached the report regarding Splashtop? We don't use any application named Xunlei Thunder in our service. Can you help confirm?

    Thanks,

  • Yes - that link was provided by one of my clients after we had to use Teamviewer because Splashtop didn't work for us.  I saw the client machine appear in my console, and it would then go online/offline and we could not connect to it.  I suspect the Sonicwall misidentifies Splashtop traffic and thats what it thinks it looks like.

  • Wayne,

Since we don't use Xunlei Thunder, there might be another cause. Can you help collect logs from the streamer on your user's computer? Your user can go to the advanced tab on the streamer UI, scroll down to the bottom to click send debug logs button.

    Thanks,
