Something is blocking the lower right corner over tasktray icons on streaming computer

On the computer which is running the Streamer in the background, after I've connected and disconnected from another computer, there is a mostly-transparent box with the Splashtop logo occupying the lower right corner of the screen. When I move the cursor over it I get the "Waiting" cursor, and it blocks access to any windows that are displayed beneath it: I can't click on buttons or anything else in windows that occupy that space.

I do have Enable Lock Screen and Enable Blank Screen options enabled. Maybe the transparent box is a notification related to those, or for the remote access in general. I'm able to access the Splashtop preferences window. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

Killing the SRServer.exe process makes the box go away.

  • @Dwebb,

The window should be the one notify streamer side that someone is connecting to this computer.

We are looking into this issue, but we currently can't reproduce it in house. Does the issue happen every time when connecting to this computer? Does the issue also happen on other computers you have streamer installed?

  • No, it doesn't happen every time, and I haven't seen it on my other computers but I don't connect to them very often. I spent 7 hrs yesterday on a remote connection, and this morning the computer I was connected to is fine; the bug didn't reoccur.

The next time it happens I'll try to grab a screenshot for you. I can also try to attach Visual Studio's debugger to SRServer.exe and see if I can tell where it's stuck or get a stack trace for you. Let me know if there are any other diagnostics I can get you.

  • @Dwebb,

Since we can't reproduce the issue in house for now, there is no effective way resolving this. We will keep you updated here, and thank you for your help to collect more detailed info.

  • I'm still experiencing this bug occasionally; I've captured a dump file, but at 87MB it's too big to attach here, even zipped. It's got a few routines from SRServer in the call stack, so hopefully it can help you figure out where it's gotten stuck. Please let me know how to get it to you.
