Mac Clients Losing Password

I have a lot of problems with Mac Splashtop clients "losing" the login password.  The email address is still there...  So, that means I either have to go there and enter the password, or give the user my password in order to connect...  Is there a fix for this?

  • @Havinabubble,

The latest version of the streamer is 3.0.4.3, please remove the streamer from your Mac then re-install v3 one then see if the issue still happens.

We also suggest that you could take this chance to use deployment streamer on your target computer instead of general streamer. You could refer to the FAQ article below for more details:
    https://support-splashtopbusiness.splashtop.com/entries/35126714

Please let me know if the issue still happens.

  • @Support you'll note my OS version....   hence why I have no choice but to use 2.6.2.3

Just thought you should be aware that the oldest versions ALSO lose the login details @ random

  • @Havinabubble,

Sorry I didn't noticed that. Please help collect splog.txt at below path and let us know the time stamp you saw the issue. We will see if this is a known issue using 2.6.2.3 on Mac OS 10.6:

    /Users/Shared/SplashtopStreamer/SPLOG.txt
    ~/Library/Logs/SPLog.txt (single user machine)

  • @Havinabubble,

Could you please help collect the splogs on the culprit Mac? Please also let me know the time stamp you saw the issue. We will work with the engineering team address the issue.

As for the check for update, at this time, new updates are not being pushed to the update system as customers have complained that the reminder popups cause them numbers of phone calls.

We are building a silent updater function that would update to the latest version without any interaction by you or your customers. It is expected to be available soon.

  • I had another one lose its password last night, and one today.  I submitted an splog through my (now closed, even though it hasn't been solved...) support ticket.

  • I was able to get onto two of the Macs today.

One is on Mac OS X 10.11.3, Splashtop version was 2.6.5.6

The other is on Mac OS X 10.10.5, Splashtop version 3.0.2.1. This one was a deployed version; it lost the deployment code.

I'll submit the splog.log files to my (now closed, even though it hasn't been solved...) support ticket.

  • lost another 2 reciently due to password field being blank...

logged onto computer via VPN and ARD, and ran the Splashtop client update

both repaired themselves and became visible (no deployment code or details manually added)

  • @Havinabubble,

What is the streamer version? And could I know your Splashtop account? We also replied to you earlier in this thread and we believe the splog.txt will help. Please help collect the logs, thank you!

cannot say what version it was, but now they are running 3.0.6.3  &  3.0.6.2 respectively

will go back through the thread and raise a ticket with the splog
