Better permission options.

- Set permissions on the group level and have it inherit to the computers contained within that group.

- Set permission groups and allow them to be applied to remote systems, groups, etc. This way permissions don't need to be set on an individual basis when grouping would make more sense (like Active Directory).

Active Directory integration.

  • @splashtop@tigerguppy.com,

Set share access by group basis is planned.

AD integration is not planned yet.

  • I miss the option 'Allow access by all admins and SPECIFIC members'

  • @Collin,

The option "Allow access by specific Splashtop IDs" should help in your case.

  • Yeah, but when we have lots of PC's with these options set and we get a new admin account, I do not want to go by all systems to add that single admin account to those PC's. It would make much more sense to give admins as a group permissions and add individual user accounts as an extra.

  • @Collin,

That makes sense and we have passed this to the development team, they will evaluate how to handle this best.

    Thank you!

  • @Collin,

Our other package "Splashtop Business for Remote Support" might be a better fit for you. For example, you would be able to have a "user group A" that is set to access a certain set of computers. Adding a new admin to "user group A" will automatically allow/restrict the new admin to the same computers as previously defined for "user group A."

Our original "Splashtop Business" had some architectural constraints that limited how flexible its permission setting could be. That was part of the reason for creating "Splashtop Business for Remote Support."

Here's some info on the differences and also on how permissions works in Splashtop Business for Remote Support:

If you do want to switch, we can do so and apply a credit based on your remaining subscription value. Just let us know.

    Thanks,

    Phil
