disable screen and lock keyboard

coming from logmein, its very convienient to turn off screen or lock screen "ANYTIME" while

doing remote on a pc. is this possible? thanks!

    Could you elaborate more detailed usage case so we could share them with the development team?

    We have Enable blank screen and Lock keyboard and mouse options that will work when a remote session established, will this help?

  • Most users don't like when you connect to a pc the screen goes blank without permission or some sort of courtesy that you are going to blank the screen.

    Oftentimes, they will just reset the pc thinking the machine was not responding. Put this toggle(blank screen/keyboard lock/printer) in Splashtop Business app.

    Point taken.

    Streamer has settings to blank/lock upon connection, Yes, that'd be disruptive to happen suddenly upon connecting and inconvenient to go toggle after connecting.

    We'll be modifying the Splashtop Business app to add a few more controls you can easily toggle during session, including blank screen, lock keyboard, and a few more functions.

  • The ability to engage/disengage Blank Screen and Lock Keyboard & Mouse while remotely logged into a clients computer is about the only feature keeping us form switching form LogMeIn. Please let me know when these controls to easily toggle during session have been added to the  Splashtop Business app so we can test.

    This is planned. We will redesign the in-session tool bar for easier access to blank/lock screen/etc.

    We recently are busy developing features such as auto-update, remote reboot, etc; then we will work on tool bar redesign.

  • I made the jump from Logmein and would really like this feature enabled.  

    It is very useful when connecting remotely to servers especially so that nobody can see potentially private/confidential data etc..

    For now you could open the streamer UI during a remote session, and manage these options under security tab in the streamer. They will take effect immediately.

    In the near future we will overhaul the control menu at the app side, and these options will be included so it will be more handy to manage these options during a remote session.

  • once you unlock the steamer with admin permission for blank screen and lock keyboard and mouse, how do you lock the setting again to pervert user from change the steamer settings?

    Minimize the streamer window by clicking "x" should lock it again. Is that the case you saw?

  • Any update on this? We also came from logmein and this is an essential feature when performing certain tasks in front of certain users from a security standpoint. How is the toolbar re-design coming?

  • +1 for being able to enable/disable the mouse/keyboard from the app.
    Like others I have come from LogMeIn and need this feature when entering passwords in front of certain users.
     
    Using the suggested workaround does not work for me
    (open the streamer UI during a remote session, and manage these options under security tab in the streamer)
    because I might remote to a PC that is on the windows sign in page. If I start to type in my Admin password for the PC and the user click on the eye button to display the password that would be suboptimal!

  • Hi all,

    We're almost there! Blank screen and lock keyboard/mouse from within the session toolbar will be in our upcoming release (3.1.8.x, 2-3 weeks from now).

    Please be sure to update both streamer and Splashtop Business app to the new release when it comes out. (Both sides need to be updated for the feature to work.)

  • Thank you all for your patience while this was being added. We also took the opportunity to revamp the toolbar so it's always visible (1 less click) and is more expandable to include other functions that we'll add down the road.
