Logitech Keyboard Case Alway Caps

When connecting to a windows remote system and trying to use the Logitech keyboard case on my iPAD, it is stuck on caps. I cannot turn caps off. Using the on screen keyboard works. Why when using this case is there an issue? Note that I am writing this post using the case on the iPad.
