Multiple monitors on client machine
Hi, I just started a 7 day business trial, I am remoting from a dual monitor machine to a dual monitor system, and I need to have each monitor displayed on each of the two local monitors the way teamviewer can do. Is there a way to do this?
Commenti
I really need the ability to display all monitors on a remote device at the same time. I don't care if I have to drag the app across a couple of my monitors on the workstation I am remoting from.
@Esippel,
This is not supported yet. We will make sure development team aware this feature request, they will have further research and evaluation.
Hi, I need exactly the same thing. I've got it with both LogMeIn (recently) and GoToMyPC (for a long time, now).
Most of my day is spent remotely logged in to a dual-monitor host via a dual-monitor client.
Thanks!
Any updates on remote dual monitor to client dual monitor?
@all,
Sorry but this is not planned yet.
I too would love this feature. If not multiple monitors right away, then perhaps add a drop down to the switch monitor button, so we can at least choose what monitor we want to look at, without having to cycle through them all. I have 4 monitors at work, and 6 monitors at home. Jumping from monitor 1 to 6 is a huge pain. A simple drop down menu to choose your monitor would be awesome until multiple monitors can be shown at once.
I agree with Jeffsaffle. I to have several monitors and its a huge pain to cycle through them. Most of the time, due to latency, I will click on the button twice and have to go around again.
@Jeffsaffle & Esippel,
Thanks for the suggestion, I will forward them to the dev team, and keep you updated.
I'd like to add my support for this as well. It may be the only think keeping me from purchasing. I have users who need to be able to see both monitors of the remote computer to work efficiently.
I just bought this today and am very disappointed to find that I can not view two monitors at once. Had that on my Logmein account and it is very important for the remote work I do. If this is not a planned feature I would like to cancel my subscription!
Please don't just say you will send this on to development - you said that on this post back in July. Give us a time-frame when it will be available.
@all,
Enhancing the ability to manage multiple monitors is planned. I don't know the time schedule, though. Once I have any update, I will keep you posted.
I've usually got about 20 computers I have to monitor, and few of them are graphics machines with two-monitor setups. We had LogMeIn on everything for a few years, backed up with GoToMyPC for the graphics boxes.
Because of this dual-monitor thing, we kept a GoToMyPC business account with logins for those computers when we dropped LogMeIn. It gives us higher performance and multi-monitor support for the places we need it at a better price than LogMeIn, but for all of the single-monitor, non-graphics-intensive PC's Splashtop completely replaced our LogMeIn subscriptions, and it's been fine. As soon as they can figure out how to handle multiple monitors, we'll try to move everything to Splashtop.
I also just came from LogMeIn starting today and my job requires huge excel sheets and InDesign which two viewable screens at the same time are a necessity. I work many hours after hours and the weekend at home but this will slow my work down and is very inefficient. I do not know any office workers that are single screen users at their office any longer and quite a few that have moved to three screens now. Please keep us apprised of this outdated setting and let us know once you have updated this setting.
Wow, been going through the forums for about 30 or so minutes; support for switching between multiple monitors, from a desktop and not the mobile app, has been requested for several years. Looking to migrate from GoToAssist and LogMeIn, but lack of this feature will eliminate the product. I directly support 23 machines which are dual-headed and indirectly support another 120+. Really too bad.
I only commented here to show support for this... It would be an excellent feature to have. Thank you.
I need to be able to view multiple monitors simultaneously.
I agree with RcFrank, I will not be suggesting to renew the subscription without the ability to do this.
We would also like to see this feature added. Thanks.
I signed up for a trial to move away from LogMeIn, but without the ability to see 2 monitors at one time I'll stick with LogMeIn.
I just realized there is no dual monitor support and I already signed up and switched over from Logmein. If this is not implemented by the time I renew, I will be switching back.
Holy cow every PC we support has more than one monitor!
Being able to view BOTH monitors at the same time is key for me and from what I read above, to a lot of people. Switching between monitors defeats the purpose of active dual monitors. Please add this functionality as soon as possible or it seems a lot of people that are trying out your service will stay with LMI.
I'm chiming in here too - trying to reach my own work desktop during a trial, and cant' see my second monitor. This is super critical for me... am trialing for about 100 users but this could be a deal breaker for me as well.
aah.. just realized remote multi-monitor works, but you have to use the client, not the web browser extension. I can live without the dual local - dual remote for now personally, but have finance users who will definitely want this feature.
The ability to view both monitors simultaneously on the client is something I'd like to see, especially since I could do this on LogMeIn.
Please add this feature as it is becoming more of a nuisance (more computers having two or more displays) not to have it.
It's been a little over a year now.. not looking too good.
Hi Dominic, you found a way to do remote multiple monitoring?
Or are you referring to the switch button that lets you switch between remote monitor views, but not see them at the same time?
@Dominic,
The Chrome app should also allow cycling of monitors. Does yours have the icon as in attached screenshot? If not, we should do some debugging to find out why.
@all,
Appreciate all the votes for seeing multiple monitors simultaneously. It is quite a significant technical undertaking so to be honest it may be at least 6-9 months away. We will try to add a dropdown monitor selector much sooner, to make lives easier for some of you.
I'd be happy for now if the existing monitor switch button in SSB worked properly. Sometimes it cycles through my 3 remote monitors but usually it either cycles through 2 of them or just keeps recycling the main one.
