Deprecation of Support for Windows XP/Vista/Server 2003/Server 2008

We will start to deprecate the support for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008 in phases over the second half of 2023.

The number of endpoints running these operating systems accounts for a very small percentage of Splashtop endpoints, and this deprecation will enable us to further tighten up our infrastructure security and modernize our toolchain.

August 2023

Starting with version 3.6.0.0, which will be released around mid-August, new Splashtop software versions will no longer support Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003, and Server 2008 R1. Older releases of Splashtop software (e.g. version 3.5.8.0) will be kept available for the small number of users who still need to deploy to endpoints running these operating systems.

January 2025

We plan to completely phase out support for Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Server 2008 R1, meaning those endpoints will no longer be able to connect to the Splashtop infrastructure. Remote access will no longer be possible to those endpoints.
