Splashtop Shield Integration

Introduction

Splashtop Shield is a next-gen antivirus with AI-assisted anti-scam protection. It continuously scans files and devices in the background for viruses and malware, blocks scam and phishing sites before they can be clicked into, and stays automatically updated against emerging threats, all while combining multi-layer threat intelligence with Splashtop's proprietary AI engine to detect scam emails, texts, calls, and phishing attempts. Shield also uniquely blocks unauthorized remote access tools commonly abused by scammers.

The Splashtop Shield integration allows you to easily install the Shield Agent or automate the installation using an Endpoint Security Policy within Splashtop.

Installation

To enforce the Shield Agent installation or deploy new installations, use one of the methods below.

Install by Endpoint Policy (Automatic Enforcement)

Use Endpoint Policies to automatically install Splashtop Shield on assigned computers. Splashtop attempts the installation up to three times every two hours until the agent is successfully installed. If Splashtop Shield is removed, Splashtop will automatically attempt to reinstall it using the same retry behavior.

  1. In the Splashtop console (my.splashtop.com/my.splashtop.eu), go to Automation > Endpoint Policies, then create or edit an existing policy.
  2. Click the Endpoint Security tab and toggle it on.
Select Splashtop Shield in the Security Product dropdown menu.
Click the Installation checkbox to enable automatic installation.

Install from Endpoint Security Page (On-Demand)

On-demand installation is initiated by an admin and installs silently without user interaction. This option is useful if you do not want Splashtop to automatically enforce agent installation, or if you want to install the agent immediately on a computer without waiting for the two-hour policy retry interval.

  1. In the Splashtop console (my.splashtop.com/my.splashtop.eu), go to Security > Endpoint Security.
  2. Select the checkboxes of the computers you would like to install Splashtop Shield on, then click Actions > Splashtop Shield > Install Splashtop Shield Agent.

Email Notifications

Splashtop Shield install/uninstall notification emails are managed through Endpoint Policies, separate from other antivirus notifications, which are configured at Team Settings > Endpoint Security.

Email alerts about threats are managed in the Shield Console settings: Splashtop Shield.

Automatic agent installation and notification emails are configured independently within the policy. You can enable Splashtop Shield notifications without enabling automatic agent installation.

  1. In the Splashtop console (my.splashtop.com/my.splashtop.eu), go to Automation > Endpoint Policies, then create or edit an existing policy.
  2. Click the Endpoint Security tab and toggle it on.
Scroll to Notification Settings and select the alerts you would like to receive.

  3. Click the Edit Email List button to configure the email recipients.
You can type or select users/user groups from the dropdown menu.

Viewing Threats/Alerts

Threat alerts are displayed in the web console under Security > Threats > Splashtop Shield. High-level data is displayed and can be filtered. Acknowledging a threat clears the alert within Splashtop. Each alert includes a direct link to the alert/event for triage and remediation in the Splashtop Shield console.
