Introduction
This article covers initial setup of the Splashtop Shield Console, including understanding your Dashboard, managing users, configuring policy, installing agents, creating groups, and getting familiar with reviewing Activity and Logs.
Our Splashtop Shield Integration goes over using Shield with the Splashtop Console.
You can view that integration here: Splashtop Shield Integration
An active Splashtop Shield subscription is required to access the console referenced in this article.
The Dashboard gives you a quick overview of the devices with an installed Shield Agent, quick links to key team features, and a summary of recent activity.
Summary
The top of the page summarizes the last 7 days of activity: Threats
blocked, Scams blocked, and Scans run. Any threats or issues found
during that period appear here as well. Click
View Activity to open the Activity page and see
current threats or issues, if any.
Team Information & Quick Actions
This section shows key info and links for your Devices protected,
Team members, Groups, and Policies. From Quick Actions, you can deploy
devices, create groups, and invite teammates. Next to it, the Groups
section shows your existing groups and how many devices belong to
each.
Recent Activity
This shows the 5 most recent entries from the Activity page, covering
everything related to scans.
Device List
The Devices page shows the number of seats used and remaining, along with the machines that have the Shield Agent installed. From the Device list, you can see each device's assigned Group, Policy, Device Status, and Deployment date.
In the Actions column, you can run a recommended scan (Full scan or Quick scan). Expanding the menu with the widget alongside a device shows its device and agent information, including Hostname, OS version, Agent version, threats found, what protection is active, and options to edit its label, change its group, or remove the device.
From the same page, you can send the Shield Agent to a new device by sharing an install link via email. Select the Group, enter the recipient's email address, and send the install link, or copy the link to share with multiple users yourself. You can also email the installer by clicking Deploy agent at the top of the page (available on both the Dashboard and Devices pages).
Install from Shield Console
After downloading the Shield Agent onto the machine you want to secure, run the installer to begin installation, then follow the on-screen prompts to complete it. Once finished, the Shield Agent will appear on screen.
Install from Splashtop Integration
If your machine has the Streamer installed, you can deploy the Shield Agent remotely from the Splashtop Console (my.splashtop.com / my.splashtop.eu). Log in to the Splashtop Console, go to Security > Endpoint Security, then select the computer(s) you want to install the Shield Agent on.
Click Actions > Splashtop Shield > Install Splashtop Shield Agent. Select the Shield Group, then click Install.
You can view more Splashtop Shield Integration information, which also covers installing automatically via Endpoint Policy.
From the Groups page, you can create and edit groups.
To create a group, click Create group. From here, you can set the group name and description, and add devices and Policies.
After a group is created, you can add or remove devices, edit the group name, and change the group's current Policy.
The Policies page lets you create and edit the policies your devices and groups will use. To create a policy, click + New policy at the top of the page.
Enforce these settings on every device
This setting locks the policy in the Shield Agent, preventing users from changing the policies you've set.
Antimalware
Quick and Full scans can be scheduled as Daily or Weekly. Daily runs the scan every day at the time you set; Weekly runs it on the specific days and time you set.
Exclusions can also be configured here. Click Add exclusion, then enter the file or folder path you want excluded from scans. This exclusion set applies to every device assigned to the policy.
Scanning downloaded files can also be enabled. From here, you can set the detection action to Quarantine or Remove.
USB drives and removable media can also be scanned.
Anti-Scam
Scam protection detects and blocks fraudulent websites before they load. Remote access protection blocks remote access tools that aren't approved or allowed.
To add remote access software to the allow list, click + Add, then select the software you want to allow on your devices. You can also maintain a website allow list by clicking + Add website and entering the website(s) you want to allow.
From the Users & Access page, you can send invites to your team (Admin role only). Once an invite is sent, the user will appear on the Member list.
From the Member list, you can see all members (both active and those still invited), along with their Role, Status, and Actions (which lets you remove a user from the team).
The Activity page shows all scan activity from the last 7 days. From here, you can Acknowledge, Ignore, or Recheck possible threats.
Clicking the expand option to the right of an alert shows more details about the scan and the device. You'll also see the alert's Status, which is either Resolved or Needs attention. When an alert shows Needs attention, you'll have the option to Acknowledge, Ignore, or Recheck (scan again), along with a list of any possible threats.
You can also filter at the top of the page by Group and by Status.

If you need to see activity older than 7 days, click History at the top right. You can view up to 90 days of past activity on this page. For anything older than 90 days, check the Logs page instead.
The Logs page is the full historical record of every security and admin event on your account.
From the console, you can view up to 12 months of log history, filter by Group and by event type, and export logs to CSV using the export option at the top of the page.
Each log entry includes a timestamp, event description, issue type, affected device, group, and severity. Click the dropdown to the right of an entry to view additional event detail.
The Subscription page shows your Shield plan and seat count, including seats used and seats remaining.
To edit your Shield subscription, click Open Remote Console, or go directly to my.splashtop.com / my.splashtop.eu and open the Subscriptions page to modify your plan.
From Settings, you can view and edit your Team name (Owner only) and Account Name, set a password for your account login, and view your Email address (not changeable from here).
You can also configure email alerts. These are set per user, so if one user turns off a notification (or all of them), it won't affect other users' settings.
Uninstall protection can also be enabled. When turned on, the uninstall password must be entered before anyone can uninstall the Shield Agent. This password is autogenerated and cannot be edited. If uninstall protection is disabled and then re-enabled, a new password is generated.
