Connector as Streamer Proxy

Introduction

From Connector 1.2.6.0, it has the new feature that allows Streamer traffic to be securely routed through the Connector to Splashtop servers. Now, Streamers can work when they are deployed inside a closed network.

Enable Streamer Proxy

Toggle the switch to enable this feature. Once enabled, Streamer traffic will route through the Connector.

Configuration Options

Proxy Port

  • Specify a proxy port (range: 1024-65535) for Streamer routing via Connector.
  • Default port: 18080.
  • Ensure the selected port is unused to avoid conflicts.

Authentication

  • Allow anonymous: Permits access without credentials (not recommended for security).
  • Require username and password: Enforces secure access.

IP Restriction

  • Allow all: Permits traffic from all IPs (default setting).
  • Allow specific IPs or IP segments: Restrict access to specific IPs
  • Disallow specific IPs or IP segments: Block specific IPs

Applying Changes

Once the configurations are configured as describe, click the Apply button to save and activate the changes.

Troubleshooting

  • If the proxy fails to connect, ensure the port is not in use and Connector Service is running.
  • Check credential accuracy if authentication issues arise.
  • Connector itself must have Internet access to make it work.
