Update from the Streamer App
To update the Streamer from the Streamer app, please refer to the below Steps:
1. At the remote machine, please open Streamer. Go to Start, type " Streamer " and click on " Open "
2. Go to the About section and click on " Check for updates"
3. If there is an update available, you will be prompted to enter the Administrator credentials of the machine and the Streamer will get updated.
Manually update
From the web console, my.splashtop.com:
- View the computer's Properties (from the Computers tab > gear icon)
- If the computer is not updated, you can click the Update button:
- The computer will update the next time it comes online and is logged into. If the computer is already online and logged into, it will update on the next heartbeat (about every hour).
From the Business App, starting v3.5.6.0 or newer:
- Click the computer's gear icon
- Click the Update button
When trying to update your Splashtop streamer by clicking the "Update" button, the update failed and returned you with an error message?

Error messages
When encountering this error message, it means that the self-update feature is disabled. Reach out to your team owner or admin for further instructions.
Exit your remote computer out of the Guest account/ user to proceed with the update.
Windows
Step 1: Open the Control Panel.
Step 2: Select User Accounts and then click on manage other accounts from the drop-down menu.
Step 3: Click on the user you wish to switch to.
Mac
Step 1: Click the Apple icon on the left-hand corner of your desktop to view these options.
Step 2: Locking your screen will bring you to the page asking for your password or Touch ID. Click "Switch User" at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3: Click on the user you wish to switch to.
When encountering this error message, is most likely caused by one of the reasons below:
- Network error: Check your firewall/ anti-virus setting and see if Splashtop service has been blocked.
- Disk error: Not enough disc space to download the streamer, trying freeing up your disk first then proceed with the update.

Download file hash mismatch
When encountering this error message, is most likely caused by one of the reasons below:

Insufficient permissions: The assigned user role running on Win or Mac computer does not have permission to perform the requested update.

The remote computer was already running a streamer update.

The update was manually canceled during the process.

There was a previous instance of the Splashtop Streamer that may have been corrupted.
To resolve this issue:
Windows: Run the zip attachment(CleanupInstallerSRS_v1.0.1.0) to uninstall and cleanup registries/directories. After that is done, reinstall the streamer.
Mac: Run the zip attachment(Fix_streamer.sh.zip) to uninstall and cleanup registries/directories. After that is done, reinstall the streamer.
