Account Lockout Policy

The Account Lockout Policy is a security enhancement that protects user accounts by locking access after a configured number of failed login attempts, for a defined duration.

Supported Subscriptions

  • Splashtop Remote Access [Solo | Pro | Performance]

  • Splashtop Remote Support [SOS-10 | SOS-300]

  • Splashtop Enterprise [Remote Support License | Remote Access License]

Enable Account Lockout Policy

  1. Go to Management > Settings > Account Security.
    This feature is disabled by default. Toggle the switch to enable it.

  1. Click Detailed setup to configure the following options:

Lockout Conditions setting is shared across Web Console and Business App.

  • Failed login limit
    Specifies the maximum number of consecutive failed login attempts allowed before the account is locked.

  • Lockout duration
    Defines how long the account remains locked after exceeding the failed login limit.
    After the specified duration has passed, the account will be automatically unlocked.

Unlock Permissions

  • Roles
    Specifies which roles are allowed to manually unlock locked accounts.

Unlock a Locked Account

  1. Go to Management > Users.

  2. Click the ... icon next to the locked user and select Unlock.

After the account is unlocked, the failed login attempt counter is reset to zero.
