Android streamer Deployment with Zebra StageNow

This article is about how to deploy Splashtop streamer on Zebra device with StageNow admin console.

Procedures:

1: Prepare the apk files of Streamer and Zebra add-on

1.1 Download the streamer easy deployment from Splashtop console:

• • Path:  Management->Deployment->Depoly

    • Choose the Android easy deployment and download it:

1.2 Download the Zebra add-on apk file by clicking HERE.

2. Create the profile to install the Streamer and Zebra add-on apk on StageNow admin console

• Install StageNow application on your computer and login the Admin console

• Create new Profile ->XpertConfig profile

• Add two FileMgr and two AppMgr config items to the profile

2.1 Config the profile to download and install Streamer apk

• On the FileMgr part:
  • TIPS: If you've already put the apk file on your device in some ways, you can skip this part, and directly to the AppMgr part.

• • Set the target path: it's to define the path you want to put the streamer apk to.

    • 

  • Set the Source File URI

    • Click the "..." button and the selector dialog will show up:
    • Staging Server choosing:
      • Built in: it means the download source will be your current computer files
        • The Zebra device and the download source computer should be in the same Network.
        • Choose the streamer apk file on your computer
      • External: it requires a FTP server to be your download source
        • Put the Streamer apk file to the FTP server
        • Input the FTP server path of the apk file
  • Finish fill in the Source file URL
    • 
  • Then click the [Continue] button
• On the AppMgr part:

  • • Choose [install] as the action

    • Fill the the apk path, it should be the same with the one created on FileMgr target path

    • Then click the [Continue] button

2.2 Config the profile to download and install Zebra add-on apk

• On the FileMgr part:
  • TIPS: If you've already put the apk file on your device in some ways, you can skip this part, and directly to the AppMgr part.

• • Set the target path: it's to define the path you want to put the streamer apk to.

    • 

  • Set the Source File URI

        • Choose the streamer apk file on your computer

  • Finish fill in the Source file URL

  • Then click the [Continue] button
• On the AppMgr part:

  • • Choose [install] as the action

    • Fill the the apk path, it should be the same with the one created on FileMgr target path

    • Then click the [Continue] button

2.3 Complete the Profiles and get the barcode

• Click [Complete Profiles]
  • 
• Then click [Test] or [Publish] to get the Barcode pdf file

3. Complete the installation of the Splashtop streamer and Zebra add-on

• TIPS: You're also allowed to proceed this step after Step4, which is based on your need.

• Scan the Barcode with the StageNow app on the Zebra device to install Streamer and Zebra add-on
  • 

4. Create the profile to Launch the Streamer app using StageNow admin console

• Create a XpertConfig profile
• Add AppMgr config to this profile
• On the AppMgr part:

  • Choose [Launch an application] as the action

  • Input”Streamer” to the Application Name

    • 
    • Then click the [Continue] button

• • Complete the Profiles

  • Click [Test] or [Publish] to get the Barcode pdf file

5. Scan the Barcode with the StageNow app on the Zebra device to launch Streamer app

• • Scan the Barcode with the StageNow app on the Zebra device and you will see the Streamer app is launched and will automatically finish the deployment to your team

  • Try establishing a remote access session from your client, and you'll see the screen of the Zebra device and manage to remote control it.
