Pixel devices with Android OS Versions 14 and Above Update

Pixel devices with Android OS Version 14+ Adds New Screen Sharing Prompt, Affects Google Pixel devices for Unattended Access in Splashtop

With the release of Android OS 14 and above, Google has introduced an additional security measure that impacts remote access sessions on Google Pixels devices. Now, when initiating a remote connection via Splashtop Streamer, users are prompted to manually allow screen sharing each time. This change essentially shifts all remote sessions on Android 14+ Pixel devices to attended access only, regardless of previous unattended configurations.

What to Expect

Upon connecting to a remote Pixel device, a prompt will appear on the device screen:

“Share your screen with Splashtop Streamer?”
Users must tap “Share screen” to begin the session.

Unattended Access for Android Devices

If your Android device has an add-on then your connection will be unattended as usual.  Without the add-on, as in the case with Google Pixel devices, you will need to click "Share screen" on the Pixel device before connecting.
