Change to Unattended Remote Control Support on Samsung Devices

What’s Changing

Samsung has deprecated the Remote Control feature in the Knox SDK. Beginning with Android 15, we’ve received reports of issues such as screen tearing during remote sessions. Since this feature is no longer supported, Samsung will not provide fixes for these issues, and they are unlikely to be resolved. All deprecated API methods are listed on Samsung's Knox Documentation:

Impact on Unattended Remote Control

Unattended remote control for Samsung devices requires the Knox SDK. With its deprecation, unattended access may no longer work reliably going forward. If you choose to continue using unattended access, please follow these instructions to enable Knox:

Attended Remote Support Still Works

Remote control remains available for attended sessions (where a user is present to grant permission), using Android’s standard APIs without requiring Knox. The end user simply approves a one-time screen-sharing prompt. To enable this fallback method, uninstall the “Splashtop Add-on: Samsung” app from the device. This will allow the Splashtop Streamer to use the standard Android APIs instead of relying on Knox. Please follow these instructions:
