Overview
Starting with Streamer V3.4.4.0, you can now use a custom logo for BLANK SCREEN on your remote computer, to display your own logo instead of the default Splashtop Logo.
Requirements:
- Windows 10 version 2004 or newer
- Mac OS 10.7 or newer
- Splashtop Streamer V3.4.4.0 or newer
Requires Windows 10 version 2004 or newer and Splashtop Streamer v3.4.4.0 or newer
- On the remote computer, open the Registry Editor and navigate to:
"Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Splashtop Inc.\Splashtop Remote Server" - Create a new DWORD Value, titled "BlankScreenLogo" and set the value to 1.
(To create a new DWORD Value, right click and click "New -> DWORD (32-Bit) Value") - Open Windows File Explorer and navigate to this folder:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server\Support" - Create a new folder here called "BlankScreenCustomized"
- Copy your custom logo file into this folder and call it Logo.png.
NOTE: It must be a .png file to work correctly.
The final file path should be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Splashtop\Splashtop Remote\Server\Support\BlankScreenCustomized\Logo.png" - Reconnect to Streamer and once blank screen is enabled, it should show the new logo!
NOTE: Setting this on a system older than Windows 10 Version 2004 will default to the original blank screen type.
Requires Mac OS 10.7 or newer and Splashtop Streamer v3.4.4.0 or newer
- On the remote computer, please open Terminal and enter this command (without quotation marks):
"cd /; cd Users/Shared/SplashtopStreamer; touch com.splashtop.layered-blank-screen.enable"
This should create a new file directly within the Splashtop Streamer folder. - Now, please open Finder and navigate to this folder:
/Users/Shared/SplashtopStreamer/
You can also open Finder, and press "CMD+Shift+G" to open the "Go to Folder" Window and copy and paste the folder path above and click "Go". - Copy your custom logo file into this folder and call it customized_logo.png
NOTE: It must be a .png file to work correctly.
The final file path should be "/Users/Shared/SplashtopStreamer/customized_logo.png" - Reconnect to Streamer and once blank screen is enabled, it should show the new logo!
Additional Notes
- After enabling the blank screen logo, it will be placed in the center of the remote monitor.
- If you are using multiple remote monitors, there will be one logo on each monitor.
- If the blank screen logo is enabled, but there is no logo file found, it will use the default logo:
Please note that ALL of the set up steps above, minus adding the Logo.png or customized_logo.png file to the "BlankScreenCustomized" or /Users/Shared/SplashtopStreamer/ folder, need to be completed for the Splashtop logo to show. The Splashtop logo will not show (by default), otherwise.
- If you have a tool to mass distribute files and adjust the registry, you can use this method to apply the logo to multiple computers on your team at once instead of one by one.
