Experimental Features

We've given the computer list a fresh new look. You'll see more detail about each of your computers at a glance, quicker ways to jump into a session, one simple menu for everything you need, and the option to switch between light and dark mode.

We introduced this new interface starting with the Business app version 3.8.6.0. It's still experimental, so for now it's only available to select subscriptions, and things may change before it's ready for everyone.

How to enable it

• Windows: File > Experimental Features > New App Interface

Everything in one menu
Instead of the traditional menu bar, click the Splashtop icon in the top-left corner to access everything in one place:

More information, your way
The computer list now shows more detail in sortable, resizable columns — device name, group, logged-in user, WAN IP address, LAN IP address, streamer version, and more. Click View Settings to:

• Turn Group view and Compact view on or off
• Choose single column (basic computer information), multiple columns (detailed information in separate columns), or auto mode (switches automatically based on window width)
• Choose exactly which columns appear — Favorites, Device Name, Group, Logged-in User (username only, or domain + username), Notes, WAN IP Address, LAN IP Address, and Streamer Version.

You can also reorder columns or click a column header to sort.

A cleaner way to see computer details
Click a computer to select it, or click its settings (gear) icon to open a panel with two tabs:

• Computer info: notes, deployed type, device name, OS version, streamer version, WAN/LAN IP address, and logged-in user.
• Connection Options: resolution, Enable QUIC, and Legacy Mode.

At the top of this panel, you'll also find:

•  A star to mark the computer as a favorite.
• A connection actions dropdown — Connect, File Transfer, Chat, Remote Command (Command Prompt or PowerShell), and System Tools (Task Manager, Service Manager, Registry Editor, Device Manager).
•  A power icon with reboot options — Normal Reboot, Safe-mode Reboot, and Restart Streamer.
  A ··· menu with Edit Computer Name, Add Shortcut to Desktop (Remote session, File Transfer, or Remote Command), Assign Group, Clear Credentials, and Delete Computer.

Switch between light and dark mode.
To switch a theme:

1. From the Splashtop icon menu, select Options... (Settings... on Mac).
2. Go to General.
3. Under Theme, choose Light or Dark. 

The new session interface introduces some exciting features, including a tab mode for efficient multitasking, a modern dark/light mode for personalized viewing, and a smooth UI/UX that enhances your overall experience.

To use the new interface, on the Business app, select File > Splashtop Experimental Features > New Session Interface.

Tab Mode

After the new session interface is selected, remote sessions, including chats and file transfer sessions, will open in a tab. If more than one session is established concurrently, users will be able to reorder the tabs by moving them or dragging them out as independent tabs.  Closing the tab will end the session.

Session Dark/Light Mode

To enable it, in your Business app: File > Options > select Dark under Theme (Experimental) 

Session Event Indicator

We've introduced a new session event indicator designed to display more information. When hovering your cursor over the session tab, you'll discover additional details such as the computer name/SOS code, as well as insights related to the session.

New Chat Interface

Chats opened in tab mode can be reordered or dragged out.
