Toolbar, gestures and keyboard input when remote controlling an Android device

This page describes these common actions you can do when remote controlling an Android device. 

 

Toolbar

Once a remote session being established to an Android device from the Splashtop Business app, the in session toolbar will show those appropriate buttons for Android remote control. Splashtop Business app on different platform may have slightly different layout, but they have available controls in common. Here are screenshoots of Splashtop Business in session toolbar on different platforms:

mceclip2.png Show local zoom options on Windows and Mac, for iOS and Android, you can use pinch to zoom in/out the remote view

mceclip4.png Trigger the "Back" action on the Android device (it's only available when remote controlling is available)
mceclip5.png Trigger the "Home" action on the Android device (it's only available when remote controlling is available)
mceclip6.png Trigger the "Recent" action on the Android device (it's only available when remote controlling is available, and different version and device may interpret this icon differently)

Gestures and Mouse

If remote controlling is available on the Android device, you can remote control the Android's screen with mouse and gestures (on iOS and Android).

Keyboard input

When you remote access the Android device, you may be in the following 

Scenario How to input? 
Remote control is not available (the session run in view only mode) You will not be able to input content on the remote Android from the local device
Remote control is enabled with extra addons on the Android device

You can use the following either way to input:

  • Use the remote Android side software keyboard
  • Use the local device's keyboard
Remote control is enabled with Accessibility on the Android device

You can use the following way to input: 

  • Use the remote Android side software keyboard
