Can I have idle connections disconnect automatically?

Follow

There is a setting, Idle session timeout, to automatically disconnect a connection if no keyboard or mouse input is detected through Splashtop.  (Keyboard and mouse activity on the host machine directly does not count.)

Setup

  1. Open Splashtop Streamer and click on the Settings tab
  2. Scroll down and adjust the field in minutes before an idle session disconnects. Screenshot_2017-11-15_13.47.32.png

Configure via deployment package

  1. Login at my.splashtop.com
  2. Click on Management->Deployment
  3. Click on "Create Deployment Package"

    Not there on my streamer settings screen. Immediately after "Install Printer Driver" is "Improve this product"... No idle session time out to be found.

    When I used logmein I would bill my clients based on GPS to determine time on site and sessions to determine time connected remotely. The session timeout was 30 miniutes so even if I forgot to logout of a session it would end 30 minutes later. Now I will see a session 54hrs long and while I would love to be able to bill for that I don't think it will fly.

    Ok I have noticed that on the deployment packages you can set the idle session timeout but you can't edit an existing package to change it.

    @Stickler,

    Yes, since it is a new option, you will need to create a new deployment package.

    At this time, since we can't push the change in an existed deployment package to already deployed streamer without re-installing the streamer, you can't edit an existed deployment package.

    Thanks,

    @Stickler,

    Can you check to see what's the version number on your streamer?

    Streamer version 3.1.2.0 and later (released around last December) all should have that option.

    Note that the "idle timer" deployment package configuration will only take effect for streamers with the "idle timer" functionality (e.g. 3.1.2.0 and later).

    Thanks,
    Phil
