1-to-Many Actions

Introduction

1-to-many actions is an endpoint management feature included with Splashtop Remote Support Premium and Splashtop Enterprise (Technician Licenses). Simplify endpoint management by instantly executing or scheduling tasks to multiple endpoints simultaneously. 1-to-many allows you to use the web console to select one of the below action types, set up an instant or scheduled action, and select which computers you would like to perform that action on.

 

Action Types

 

1. Log in to my.splashtop.com and select Management > 1-to-Many Actions.

2. Select Create Action and select which action you'd like to set up.

The new File Transfer feature is now available in the drop down options. Highlighted below.

3. Set the Action Name and the Action Settings.  Each 1-to-Many Action has different Action Settings to review.

4.  Click Save and Run to set up for executing the action now.  Click Save and Schedule to set up executing the action at a later time.

5.  Select which computers you want to run the action on and select Enter Credentials and Run. Enter Admin credentials for the computers.

 

6. Verify the credentials on the computer by selecting the computer, clicking on Manage CredentialsEdit Credentials.

7. Enter the credentials and review settings.  Credentials must be verified before running the Action.

8.  Once verified, select Run.

System Reboot

Description

This allows you to schedule a full system reboot for your computers.

Action Setup

  • Action Name
    • Name this action instance.
  • Assign Group Admin
    • If you would like to assign this action to a specific group admin to make them the action owner.
  • Action Settings
    • Notify remote computer XX minutes after reboot
      • You have the option to send a notification to that computer 2-5 minutes before the action reboots the computer.
    • Also notify via email with reboot status.
      • Sends an email with the status of the reboot action. The email is sent to the team owner by default. If you assign action owner using Group admin above, the email is sent to the action owner by default. You can change it later by editing the action.
  • Notes
    • If you would like to add any custom notes for this action.

Windows Updates

This allows you to schedule Windows Updates for your computers. Check out our Windows Update Management article for more info.

Action Setup

  • Action Name
    • Name this action instance.
  • Assign Group Admin
    • If you would like to assign this action to a specific group admin to make them the action owner.
  • Action Settings
    • Install updates
    • Include Updates for other Microsoft Products
    • Exclude below updates
    • Restart Computer if required to complete the update
    • Warn logged-on user before restart

Remote Command

Description

This allows you to send a Command Prompt or Powershell command to your computers..

Action Setup

  • Action Name
    • Name this action instance.
  • Assign Group Admin
    • If you would like to assign this action to a specific group admin to make them the action owner.
  • Action Settings
    • Language:
      • CMD
      • Powershell
    • Command
      • Note: Only use silent commands without user Interaction
    • Notes

Batch/Executable File

Description

This allows you to deploy and install new software to your computers silently.

Action Setup

  • Action Name
    • Name this action instance.
  • Assign Group Admin
    • If you would like to assign this action to a specific group admin to make them the action owner.
  • Action Settings
    • Upload File
      • NOTE: Must be .BAT, .CMD, .EXE format file
    • Parameters
      • Command line parameters for silent install
      • Note: *Uploaded file must execute in silent mode without user interaction.
    • Log source
      • Standard output and standard error
      • Custom log file
    • Notes

Shell Script (Mac)

Description

This allows you to send a shell script to your Mac computers.

Action Setup

  • Action Name
    • Name this action instance.
  • Assign Group Admin
    • If you would like to assign this action to a specific group admin to make them the action owner.
  • Action Settings
    • Shell Script:
      • NOTE: Only use silent commands without user interaction.

Description

MSI File

Description

This allows you to deploy and install/uninstall software via .MSI files to your computers silently.

  • Action Settings
    • Upload File
      • NOTE: Must be .MSI format file
    • Parameters
      • Command line parameters for silent install/uninstall

APK File

In v3.5.4.0 for Android Streamer, you can now perform APK file installation and File Transfer.

Available with Splashtop Remote Support Premium and Splashtop Enterprise Technician Licensing

File Transfer

In our new version v3.5.2.0 for Windows and macOS, you can now perform a File Transfer with 1-to-Many actions.  Technicians can now transfer a files to multiple computers at once.
The file size limit is 1GB.

File Transfer (Mac)

File Transfer (Android)

In v3.5.4.0 for Android Streamer, you can now perform APK file installation and File Transfer.

File Transfer (Linux)

You can now perform file transfers with 1-to-Many actions.

Available with Streamer in version 3.5.8.0 or higher.

1. Log in to my.splashtop.com and select Management > 1-to-Many Actions.

2. Select Create Action and select which action you'd like to set up.

The Linux File Transfer feature is available in the drop down options. Highlighted below.

3. Put in the Action Name and the Action Settings. The example in the screenshot will copy the file "Splashtop_Business_Win_INSTALLER_v3.6.0.3.exe" to the directory /home/mike/Downloads folder.

4. Click Save and Run to set up for executing the action now.  Click Save and Schedule to set up executing the action at a later time.

5.  Select which Devices you want to run the action on and Run.
