Introduction to Android Gestures
Description of Icons in Controls Menu
Introduction
When remoting into a desktop from an Android phone or tablet, the default mode of control will be touch mode. Tapping will translate to a mouse left click on the remote desktop, and tap-and-dragging will translate to scrolling on the remote desktop. For more information on the gestures, click on the following link: Introduction to Android Gestures.
This article will primarily concern touch mode.
Panning
If you wish to zoom in to clearly see things on your remote desktop from your Android phone/tablet, you'll need to pan the screen around or zoom out to be able to view other areas of your remote desktop. Screen pan can be done in 2 ways:
1. Holding the pan button (circular button with 4 arrows) and dragging it around to change what area of the screen you're viewing on your remote desktop.
2. Enabling the One Finger Screen Pan option in the controls menu.
Click on the arrow to the left of the keyboard icon to open the controls menu.
Select the arrow to the right of the Touch Mode option and you can enable the option from there.
This will remove the Screen Pan button and you will be able to change your view with just one finger.
Note: This will also disable one-finger scrolling so you will have to scroll using two fingers or the scrollbar.
Common Issues
Where is the pan button?
Sometimes upon connecting, the pan button will not appear until you have pinched zoom with two fingers.
If you do wish to use the pan button, be sure to disable the One Finger Screen Pan option found within the touch mode settings. If it is already disabled, toggle it on and then off again and it should reappear. If this doesn't work, please try closing the app completely and reopening it. If the issue still persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the Business app on your android device.
I am zoomed in on my remote desktop and all I can do is scroll. How can I change what I am zoomed into?
To move the screen around or change you're viewing on your remote desktop, please hold the pan button and drag to your desired direction. Enable One Finger Screen Pan to move the screen around with more ease.
Why can't I scroll on my remote desktop? My one-finger swipe only moves around the remote desktop screen on my phone/tablet.
Please use two fingers to scroll on your remote desktop. If you only want to use one finger to scroll, make sure the One Finger Screen Pan option is disabled.
I still can't scroll with One Finger Screen Pan enabled. Swiping with two fingers and using the scrollbar button doesn't work.
Please toggle the One Finger Screen Pan option on and then off , this will at least re-enable one finger scrolling.
Otherwise, please disconnect from the session and fully close the app. Reopen the app and try again. If this doesn't work, please try uninstalling and reinstalling the Business app on your android device.
