SOS Anti-Scam helps you verify the remote user connecting to your device during a support session. The Remote User profile displays identifying information such as the user's IP address, geographic location, and license status, together with a reminder to be cautious of potential scams.

Information shown in the Remote User profile
Use the Remote User profile to review information about the person connecting to your device. Depending on the platform and available session data, the profile can include:
- Display name
- Email address
- IP address
- Country or geographic location
- License status, shown as Free trial or Paid subscription

After a session is established, the SOS app automatically retrieves and displays the Remote User profile. The profile is available for users with either a trial or paid subscription.
- Establish the SOS session.
- Review the Remote User profile when it appears.
- Confirm the connecting user's details before allowing the session to continue.

If multiple sessions are connected, review the profiles in session establishment order. The most recently established session appears first.
View the Remote User profile on Windows, Mac, or Linux
On Windows, Mac, and Linux, the profile is not displayed automatically. It is available when a trial user is connected. In a multiple-session scenario, the profile button becomes available when at least one connected user has a trial license.
- Establish the SOS session.
- Click the Remote User profile.
- Review the Remote User profile and scam reminder.
- Select OK to close the profile.
When multiple sessions are established, profiles are ordered by session establishment time, with the latest session shown first.
Notes
- The Remote User profile is supported with both standard and customized themes.
- On Windows, Mac, and Linux, the displayed email address depends on the connecting user's display name settings. If a display name is configured, the email name is replaced with five asterisks (*****). If no display name is configured, the full email name is displayed.
- The profile includes a reminder that scammers may attempt to access your device by pretending to be someone you trust. Verify the connecting user before continuing the session.
- The profile provides information to help you evaluate a connection, but it does not guarantee that the connecting user is trustworthy.
