Introduction
With our V3.4.6.0 update, you can now create Desktop shortcuts to instantly connect to your favorite computers, as well as shortcuts for remote command and file transfer sessions.
Types of Shortcuts
- Remote Connection - Begin a remote session to that computer.
- Remote Command - Begin a remote command session (Remote Support Premium or Splashtop Enterprise)
- File Transfer - Begins an off Session file transfer (Requires: Remote Support Plus/Premium, Business Access Pro/Performance, SOS+, SOS Teams, or Splashtop Enterprise)
How to create a Desktop Shortcut
Method 1 - Right Click
- Open the Splashtop Business App (V3.4.6.0. or newer) and login to your account.
- Right Click on the computer you would like to create a shortcut for, and you will see a menu option for "Add Shortcut to Desktop".
- This Dropdown will then give you an option to select what kind of shortcut you would like to create.
- After selecting your choice, you should see the shortcut now appear on your Desktop:
Method 2 - Computer Settings Screen
- Open the Splashtop Business App (V3.4.6.0. or newer) and login to your account.
- Click the Gear Wheel icon next to the computer you want to create a shortcut for.
- On the Window that appears, click the computer icon in the top right and you will see a menu option for "Add Shortcut to Desktop".
- This Dropdown will then give you an option to select what kind of shortcut you would like to create.
- After selecting your choice, you should see the shortcut now appear on your Desktop:
Method 3 - Drag and Drop
- Open the Splashtop Business App (V3.4.6.0. or newer) and login to your account.
- Click and hold, then drag the computer icon of the computer you would like directly to your Desktop to create a shortcut.
NOTE: This will only create a shortcut for "REMOTE SESSION", not remote command or file transfer.
Method 4 - Manual URI Shortcut
Steps:
- Open the Business app (purple icon) and login and authenticate and make sure the "Stay logged in" option is checked.
- Create a URI string as a shortcut with the following format: st-business://com.splashtop.business?account=email@example.com&mac=C04A001C72EC
- Splashtop Streamer must be installed and logged in on the remote/host computer.
* Replace "email@example.com" and "C04A001C72EC" in the example above with your account and MAC address of the remote/host computer.
NOTES:

The Portable version and the Windows Store version of the Business App do not support custom Desktop Shortcuts at this time due to system limitations.
